SEER is one of the most confusing things for people when picking out a new unit.  SEER (Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio) is simply a rating to tell you how much cooling you will get for the amount of electricity used.

If you are looking at buying a 16 SEER rated air conditioner it will use half of the electricity than a 8 SEER unit would use.  Higher efficiency air conditioner units can come with a higher price tag than their somewhat less efficient counterparts.

What is right for you will depend on each homes individual cooling needs and the financial goals you are trying to achieve with your new purchase.

What is your budget?  What is your monthly electric savings goal in looking for a new air conditioner or cooling system?

Sometimes the amount you save on your electrical bill doesn’t justify the amount paid for a higher efficiency unit and the costs associated with it.  If you are looking for a 13 SEER unit, it is still a good number, it may not be the best efficiency but these air conditioners will get the job done at a lower upfront cost.

As you climb the efficiency scale there will be a higher cost of equipment and installation attached to each step up in SEER.  We will be there with you every step of the way.
